Beyond the Pink welcomes you to experience a different world where the city's heart beats faster; wander through narrow lanes, discover centuries-old havelis, family-owned businesses, serene shrines tucked off the major streets, & vibrant markets buzzing with local eateries offering secret-recipe delicacies. The journey winds through the major markets of Jaipur, uncovering landmarks like Hawa Mahal, Tripoliya Darwaza & Ishwari Laat. From there, the walk gently passes through narrow lanes where the city's true character unveils—a vibrant mix of energy, chaotic charm and fast-paced local life, offering an unfiltered glimpse into Jaipur.
The walk starts with a basic understanding of the city's meticulous planning in the 18th century by the founder of Jaipur, who made it India's best-planned city. The magnificent grid pattern of the city connects major streets with narrow lanes cutting them at 90-degree angles, offering hassle-free movement without the fear of getting lost! Uncover the mysteries behind each public square, which acts as a point of intersection for the streets running from north to south & east to west. Continuing ahead, you will uncover some interesting facts about the iconic landmark of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which features 953 small & intricate windows, giving it the shape of a honeycomb.
From there, discover Jaipur's busiest market, Purohit Ji Ka Katla, a commercial hub for all your daily needs, costumes & wedding outfits. Like this, there are several other markets to uncover as part of our experience. Winding through the narrow lanes, marvel at a small cluster of centuries-old houses which have been restored to their former glory under the "Smart City" project. This part of the city unveils its true character, taking you back in time to visualise how the city looked, felt and flourished before it was painted pink. Alongside, explore some of the centuries-old artisan lanes, in particular Maniharon Ka Rasta, home to the "lakher community" who make beautiful lac bangles that adorn the hands of married women.
Our route leads to Jaipur's safest and most iconic local eateries, where you can savour authentic Indian delicacies—from crispy pani puri and flavourful kachoris to sweet jalebi, refreshing lassi and piping-hot chai. Throughout the journey, we will take you to handpicked spots renowned for their exceptional taste, traditional recipes and warm local hospitality.
